Helping everyday people across Canberra get moving again — safer, stronger, and without all the confusion.
Every week I meet people from Cook, Holt, Page, Duffy, Coombs, Rivett, Fisher and the whole Belconnen area who are dealing with old injuries that just won’t settle down.
Some come in with a sore knee that keeps “flaring up.”
Some have a cranky shoulder from sport.
Others hurt their back once at work and still feel nervous years later.
Almost everyone says the same thing: “I want to train, but I’m scared of making it worse.”
That’s exactly what my Injury Rehabilitation Training program is for — safe, simple coaching that helps you move again without guessing what’s right or wrong for your body.
Why Proper Rehab Training Matters
When your body doesn’t feel right, everything becomes harder.
Walking the dog, going to the gym, even carrying groceries feels risky. You don’t trust the injured area, so you stop using it… which often makes things worse.
Good rehab training:
– helps your muscles support the injured area
– reduces pain over time
– teaches you how to move safely
– stops the “flare-up → rest → flare-up” cycle
– gives you confidence again
Canberra locals are active, often engaging in sports, hiking, riding, gym classes, etc so injuries are common. But recovery should not be scary, confusing or rushed. You just need a plan that matches your body.
What Happens When You Don’t Rehab Properly
Most people try to “rest it off,” search YouTube, or hope the pain just disappears. But here’s what usually happens instead:
You avoid the movement completely
The joint gets weaker and more sensitive. You feel stiff, tight, and unsure how to fix it.
You train too hard too early
A big mistake. This creates random flare-ups that feel like you’re starting from zero again.
You rely only on stretching
Most injury problems aren’t solved by stretching alone. You need strength and control.
You copy someone else’s rehab plan
But their injury isn’t your injury. Their body isn’t your body.
You stop training out of fear
This leads to lost strength, lower fitness and more discomfort.
Proper rehab is not about doing everything at once. It’s about doing the right things at the right time in the right way.
How My Injury Rehabilitation Training Works
My approach is calm, simple, and tailored to people who feel nervous about training through pain.
1. We talk about the injury first
How it happened, what triggers it, what movements you avoid, any physio notes, and how it affects your day.
2. I assess your movement gently
We look at how you bend, push, pull, squat, lift, and walk. Nothing intense. Just enough to understand what your body is doing.
3. You get a “safe list” of movements
Movements your body already tolerates well. This becomes our starting point.
4. We rebuild strength slowly
We fix the weak links around the injured joint using light, controlled exercises.
5. We progress without rushing
Pain-free strength first, then stability, then load. Every step is for your injury — not a generic plan.
6. You learn how to stop flare-ups
I teach you what to avoid, what to reduce, and what’s actually fine to keep doing.
7. We return you to normal training
When you’re ready, we blend rehab with everyday strength training so you don’t lose fitness.
This process has helped people with:
- knee pain
- lower back pain
- shoulder tightness
- hip issues
- ankle injuries
- post-surgery strength rebuilding
- sports strain recovery
If you want to train again but feel nervous, this program is exactly for you.

FAQ – Injury Rehabilitation Training
Yes — every session is built around safe, controlled movements and smart progressions. You’ll never be pushed into exercises your body isn’t ready for.
I assess how you move, which positions feel good, and which ones cause issues. Then we build a program using exercises that support your injury instead of aggravating it.
Yes. Physio helps you heal; strength training helps you stay pain-free long term. We bridge that gap with safe, structured training.
We start with movements your body can handle right now, then progress slowly. I also teach you how to move without compensations that cause flare-ups.
Absolutely — you don’t need to be fit to begin. We rebuild movement confidence step by step so you feel safe and capable again.
Yes — these are the most common injuries I work with. Training is tailored to your pain, mobility and the movements your body can currently tolerate.
We stop immediately and switch to a pain-free variation. There’s never any pressure to “push through.”
Yes — once your injury is stable, we gradually reintroduce the movements you want to get back to, but with proper technique and control.
Yes. Many clients come in with pain that’s been around for months or years. Strengthening the right areas often reduces symptoms significantly.
The pace depends entirely on your injury and comfort. Some people progress quickly, others need more gradual steps — both are normal.

Build power. Move better. Train safer. Made for everyday people across Canberra.
I meet a lot of people around Cook, Holt, Page, Duffy, Coombs and nearby suburbs who tell me the same thing:
“I’m training, but I’m not getting stronger. I feel stuck.”
Some are tired of doing random workouts. Some feel sore all the time. Some want to get fitter for sport or work. Others just want to feel stronger carrying groceries or playing with their kids.
That’s why I created my Strength & Conditioning Coaching program — a simple, safe approach for people who want real strength and better fitness without wrecking their body.
Why Strength & Conditioning Coaching Matters
Most people think strength training is only for athletes or people who lift big weights. But real strength matters for everyone.
Strength helps you:
- Move better
- Avoid injuries
- Boost your fitness
- Improve confidence
- Feel steady and strong day-to-day
Good conditioning training helps your heart, lungs and stamina, so you don’t feel puffed just walking up stairs at Westfield Belconnen or running after your kids at Stromlo.
The problem is that most online training plans don’t match your body, age, goals or schedule. Canberra has busy people — shift workers, parents, tradies, teachers — and training needs to fit around real life.
That’s why proper Strength & Conditioning Coaching makes such a big difference. It’s not about crazy workouts. It’s about smart training that helps you see progress week to week.
What Happens If You Don’t Train Properly
When people try to train alone, I usually see the same issues again and again:
Training too hard or too heavy
This leads to sore knees, cranky backs, and shoulder pain. You end up avoiding the gym instead of wanting to go.
No clear progression
You lift random weights, do random reps, and hope something works. Most people plateau because there’s no structure.
Too much conditioning, not enough strength
A lot of Canberra locals go running every day thinking it will make them strong. It doesn’t. It often burns you out.
Bad movement patterns
Without someone watching your form, things get out of balance. Over time this causes aches, injuries and frustration.
Feeling lost and unmotivated
When you don’t see progress, you lose confidence. Training becomes a chore instead of something you enjoy.
Strength & Conditioning only works when you train with a clear plan that matches YOUR body — not someone else’s.
How Strength & Conditioning Coaching Works With Me
My coaching method is simple, clear and built for everyday people — beginners, parents, older adults, workers, anyone.
1. We start with where you’re at
You tell me your goals, injuries, past training, and what you want to feel stronger for.
2. We build a simple strength plan
You’ll learn safe, controlled movements that build real strength fast.
3. Conditioning that makes sense
Short sessions that help your fitness without smashing you. No two-hour workouts. No 1,000 burpees.
4. Weekly progress
We increase weights, reps or movement quality at a pace that suits you. Slow and steady always wins.
5. Clear guidance on form
You’ll know how to move safely, stop injuries before they happen, and feel confident using any gym.
6. Results that stick
You’ll build strength that stays with you long-term.
This is Strength & Conditioning Coaching made for people who want simple steps, not confusing rules.

Simple, safe coaching for people who want steady, real weight loss they can keep.
A lot of people around Cook, Holt, Page, Duffy and Coombs come to me because they’re tired of trying to lose weight on their own. They’ve done all the apps, all the random YouTube workouts, all the diets that last two weeks then fade out. Most of them tell me the same thing: “I’m trying hard, but I don’t see changes.”
Fat loss is confusing when you try to guess everything alone. My Fat Loss Personal Training program is built for everyday people who want clear steps, steady progress, and someone to help them stay on track without stress.
Why Fat Loss Personal Training Matters
Trying to lose fat on your own is hard. There’s too much online advice, and most of it fights with each other. One person says lift heavy. Another says do more cardio. Someone else says stop eating carbs. It’s confusing, and most people just get stuck.
Good fat loss coaching should be simple. You should know what to do, why you’re doing it, and how to keep it going when life gets busy. When you train with a local personal trainer who understands Canberra life that understands long work days, hot summers, cold mornings, busy parents, etc it becomes way easier to stay consistent.
That’s why so many locals come to me when they want weight loss that actually feels doable.
What Happens If You Don’t Approach Fat Loss Training Properly
A lot of people try to lose fat by:
- Doing random workouts
- Eating as little as possible
- Guessing how much to train
- Doing hours of cardio
- Copying their friend’s plan
- Jumping from one idea to the next
This usually leads to the same problems:
You burn out.
Workouts feel too hard or take too long, so you stop.
You lose muscle instead of fat.
When you don’t train the right way, the weight you lose isn’t always the weight you want to lose.
Your joints start hurting.
Bad form and rushed movements lead to sore knees, backs and shoulders.
You get stuck.
Your weight won’t move because your plan isn’t matched to your body.
Most people aren’t lazy. They’re just following plans that don’t suit their fitness level, lifestyle or goals.
Fat loss should not feel like punishment. It should feel like small steps forward every week.
How Fat Loss Personal Training Works With Me
My method is simple: make training safe, clear, and something you can actually stick with.
Here’s how we do it:
1. We start with your goals
You tell me what you want—drop body fat, tone up, feel fitter, fit clothes better, improve energy, anything. Then we build around that.
2. We use strength training first
Strength training is the key to fat loss. It helps you burn calories, build muscle, and keep weight off long-term. No complicated movements. Just safe, steady lifting you can handle.
3. We add smart conditioning
If needed, we add short, simple conditioning sessions. Nothing crazy. Just enough to help fat loss without destroying your body.
4. We track your progress
You get simple check-ins, form help, and small adjustments so you don’t stall. Every week, you’ll know exactly what to do.
5. You learn how to keep results
My goal isn’t just weight loss. It’s helping you understand how to stay at that weight without feeling stressed.
This is fat loss done the way real people in Canberra can manage, even with jobs, kids, school runs and everything else.

Simple, Safe Muscle-Building for Everyday People in Canberra
Build strength safely with a local personal trainer who knows Canberra, knows real people, and knows how hard it can be to do it alone.
A lot of people around Cook, Holt, Page, Duffy and Coombs reach out to me because they’re tired of trying to build muscle on their own. They’re doing random workouts on YouTube, copying their mate’s gym plan, or guessing what weights to use. Most tell me the same thing: “I don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere.”
My Muscle-Building Coaching program is for people who want simple, safe strength training that actually works. No fancy words. No confusing plans. Just clear steps that help you feel stronger week by week.
Why Muscle-Building Coaching Matters
If you live in Canberra, you know how busy life gets. Long days, cold mornings, after-school runs with kids. Training sometimes falls off. But building muscle helps almost everything in your day feel easier.
Most people want to build muscle because:
- They want to feel strong again
- They want better posture
- They want to move without feeling tight or sore
- They want to feel confident when they walk into a gym
- They want to age better and avoid injuries
Muscle-building coaching matters because strength doesn’t just “happen.” It needs the right weight, right reps, right form, and right rest. When you get those things lined up, your body changes fast.
And this is where most people get stuck.
What Happens If You Don’t Train Properly
A lot of people across Belconnen, Weston Creek and Molonglo Valley come to me after months or even years of spinning in circles. Here’s what usually happens when training isn’t set up right:
1. Progress stalls
You train, sweat, push yourself… but the body doesn’t change. This can happen from using too-light weights or switching workouts way too often.
2. Form breaks down
Bad form is the #1 reason Canberra locals message me. Back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain — all from lifting without guidance.
3. Overtraining for no results
When people aren’t sure what to do, they do everything. More sets, more reps, more random workouts. This only makes you tired, not stronger.
4. Losing confidence
A lot of beginners tell me they left the gym for months because they didn’t want to “look silly.” My job is to remove that feeling completely.
5. No long-term plan
Muscle building works best when every week builds on the last. Without a plan, the body doesn’t adapt.
You don’t need to train harder. You just need to train smarter, and you don’t need to figure it all out alone.
How Muscle-Building Coaching Works
People around Cook, Page, Rivett and Fisher often say my style feels “easy to follow” because I teach in a simple, straight way. No big science talk. No confusing charts. Just what works.
Here’s how my muscle-building coaching runs:
Step 1 — Chat + Goal Setting
We talk about your goals, past training, injuries, work schedule and what kind of training you like. This helps me build a plan that you’ll actually stick to.
Step 2 — Movement Check
I look at how you squat, press, hinge, row and move in general. This shows me where we need to fix form, build stability or add strength.
Step 3 — Personalised Program
I build a training plan just for you.
It includes:
- What weights to use
- How many sets and reps
- How to warm up
- How to progress each week
This takes out all the guess work.
Step 4 — Training Sessions
We train together in a simple, calm environment (gym, park or at home). You learn proper form, build strength safely, and slowly lift heavier at a pace that suits you.
Step 5 — Tracking + Adjusting
Your plan adjusts based on how your body responds. When you get stronger, your plan grows with you.
Step 6 — Support
You can msg me anytime with questions about form, soreness, food or weights.
This method works for beginners, busy parents, uni students, and anyone getting back into training.

A lot of people around Cook, Holt, Coombs, Page and Duffy reach out because they want to build muscle but feel unsure about where to start. Some have been training for years without seeing change. Others are nervous about lifting heavier weights or don’t want to deal with sore backs, shoulders or elbows again. Sessions focus on slow, controlled lifts, proper technique and gradual progress so you get stronger without pain or confusion. You’ll learn how to brace, breathe, pick the right weights and feel the right muscles working.
Most clients start noticing changes fast: firmer arms, stronger legs, more stable core strength and better posture. And because every session is 1:1, you always know exactly what to do and why it works.

My Fat Loss Personal Training gives you a clear, simple plan that matches your fitness level and your life here in Canberra. We begin by talking about your routine, old injuries, stress levels, and what feels doable each week. From there, I build a program with safe strength training, basic conditioning, and steady progress that actually fits into a real schedule — not a perfect one.
Most clients notice early wins: more energy, easier movement, clothes fitting better, stronger legs and core, and less “gym overwhelm.” Because the coaching is 1:1, you always know exactly what to do and how to do it without feeling judged or rushed.
I coach clients across Coombs, Holt, Cook, Page, Rivett and nearby suburbs.
If you want fat loss training that feels safe, realistic and effective, send a quick message and I’ll help you get started.

My Strength & Conditioning Coaching is made for everyday people who want to move better, get stronger and feel fitter without risking injury or guessing what to do in the gym.
We start with a simple chat about your goals, your routine and the things that feel hard right now — tight hips, sore knees, low energy, slow progress, or feeling unsure with weights. From there, I build a plan that’s clear, safe and matched to your level.
Training includes controlled strength work, basic conditioning, mobility, core stability and technique coaching so you learn how to move well while building real strength. Most clients notice quick changes: better posture, smoother movement, more power in everyday tasks, and higher confidence using weights.
I coach clients across Coombs, Cook, Holt, Page, Rivett and nearby suburbs. Sessions are calm, structured and supportive — no pressure, no ego, just steady improvement you can feel week to week.
If you want strength and conditioning coaching that actually fits your life, send a quick message and I’ll help you get started.
A lot of people across Cook, Holt, Coombs, Page, Duffy and nearby suburbs reach out after an injury and say the same thing: “I want to get back to normal, but I’m scared of making it worse.” That’s exactly why my Injury Rehabilitation Training is built around slow, safe progress that helps you move again without the fear, confusion or pain flare-ups.
Rehab training can feel overwhelming on your own. You’re trying to guess which movements help, which ones hurt, and how much is “too much.” My approach removes that. We start by talking about your injury history, pain triggers, daily routine and what tasks feel hard—walking, lifting, sitting, getting out of the car, or general strength loss.
From there, I design a simple, step-by-step plan that matches your body. Sessions use controlled strength work, mobility exercises, gentle activation and movement patterns that restore stability. Many clients notice early wins: less stiffness, smoother movement, stronger joints, and more confidence doing everyday tasks.
I work with people across Coombs, Holt, Cook, Page, Rivett and surrounding areas, providing calm, supportive sessions that fit real life—not rushed gym workouts.
If you want injury rehab coaching that helps you rebuild strength safely and actually understand your body again, send a quick message and we’ll find the right starting point for you.

Let's work together to build a health and fitness
plan that achieves your goals.
Our Process: How We Train Canberra Locals
1. Understand Your Body & Goals:
Before we start, Brad asks about your training history, old injuries, daily routine and what you actually want to achieve — strength, fat loss, confidence, or returning after a break. This helps build a plan that fits real life for people around Coombs, Holt, Cook, Page and Rivett.
2. Build a Plan That Works for You:
Every client gets a simple, clear program based on their level. Beginners learn proper form. People with knee, back or shoulder pain get adjusted movements. Those training for sport or physical work get tailored strength and conditioning sessions.
3. Train Safely With Proper Technique:
In each session, Brad coaches form, tempo and load so you can train hard without hurting yourself. Strength work, conditioning, fat loss training — everything is delivered with step-by-step guidance. No confusion, no guess work, no risky lifting.
4. Progress You Can See:
Weekly adjustments keep you moving forward. More strength, better movement, improved muscle tone, or steady fat loss — Brad checks technique, tracks changes, and adjusts your training based on how your body feels.
The Result:
You get stronger, fitter and more confident — without flare-ups, wasted effort or random workouts. Whether you’re starting fresh in Coombs, rebuilding after injury in Holt, or chasing steady fat loss in Cook, you’ll feel the difference straight away.
Why Canberra Locals Train With BK Personal Training

Training that suits your body:
Brad doesn’t guess or throw random workouts at you. Strength work, fat loss sessions, and conditioning drills are tailored to your level so you can train safely while still making steady progress.
Safe on joints, backs and shoulders:
Many locals deal with old knee or back pain. Brad adjusts form, load and movement patterns so you can train confidently without flare-ups or fear of doing something wrong.
Clear progress, no confusion:
You’ll know exactly what you’re doing and why. Brad focuses on proper technique, simple cues, and small weekly wins that build real strength, muscle tone and fitness over time.
Experience you can rely on:
With more than a decade of hands-on coaching, Brad has trained teens, parents, workers in physical roles, and people recovering from injuries. His guidance is trusted by families and everyday people across Canberra.
Community-focused and approachable:
Most clients come from referrals or word-of-mouth. Brad keeps training friendly, calm and supportive — no judgement, no ego, just real coaching that helps you feel stronger and move better.
Pricing & Training Plans
We keep pricing simple and upfront. Costs depend on the type of training you need (strength, fat loss, conditioning, or injury-safe work), how often you train each week, and whether you want 1:1 sessions or a structured fitness programme. Most clients train 1–3 times per week, with monthly plans built around your goals and schedule.
To make it easy, we offer fast quotes via text — just send your goals, preferred days, and your suburb (Coombs, Holt, Cook, Page, Rivett or nearby). Brad will recommend the right plan, explain the weekly structure, and give you a clear price before you start.
Want better value? Many clients bundle weekly strength sessions with a personalised fitness programme, or pair 1:1 coaching with a monthly check-in package. This keeps costs lower while giving you steady progress and accountability.
Send a quick message today and Brad will reply with a personalised training plan and pricing that fits your goals and routine.

About

Brad Kwong
About Brad
I’m a passionate personal trainer and strength & conditioning coach based in Canberra, with over a decade of experience and more than 10,000 hours coaching real people toward real results.
I got into coaching at seventeen and haven’t looked back since. I worked my way up through the ranks at a personal training gym, eventually managing multiple locations. In just two years we doubled the member base. After that I moved into a head trainer role at another facility, working across personal training, small-group sessions, and rehabilitation.
Over the years I’ve worked with a pretty wide range of people, including:
1. Adults looking to lose weight, build strength, and improve their overall health
2. Teenagers learning proper technique and finding their feet in the gym for the first time
3. Competitive athletes chasing peak performance in their sport
4. Experienced lifters wanting to build as much muscle and strength as possible
5. People preparing for the physical demands of roles like the ACT Fire Brigade and AFP
Outside of training, sport has always been a big part of my life. I’ve competed at a high level in both indoor and outdoor cricket and have won three national indoor titles representing the ACT.
When it comes to my coaching, I keep things straightforward. I combine years of hands-on experience with up-to-date knowledge from industry experts and build programs around what each person actually needs. My biggest strength is my ability to connect with clients, understand what motivates them, what’s held them back, and help them become a better version of themselves. Whatever stage you’re at in your health and fitness journey, I’ll design something specifically for you and your life.
